Experience: Wine Tasting at ErmaRose Winery – Houston, TX

Reading Time: 3 minutes Thanks to Instagram I found out there’s a Black-women owned winery in my backyard! Well, close to my backyard. Located in the Katy suburbs, just west of Houston, ErmaRose Winery specializes in a variety of fruit wines like mango, peach, blueberry, and banana! Yes, banana wine is a thing (and it’s good.)

Good Eats: LIT Chicken – Houston, TX

Reading Time: 2 minutes There’s a fried chicken joint in downtown Houston and it serves some of the best fried chicken in the city. There, I said it!

LIT Chicken’s menu highlights West African culinary influence with items like loaded jollof rice and pounded yam dumpling. I heard ravings reviews about the fried chicken so I had to check it out for myself.
